Today Tara's guest expert is Lisa L. Lewis, MS. Lisa is a freelance journalist who covers the intersection of parenting, public health, and education . She has a master’s degree from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism, an MFA from Mills College, and a bachelor’s degree from UC Berkeley. She has written for The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Atlantic, TIME, the Los Angeles Times, Slate, and Your Teen, among others.

Lisa has a new book coming out June 7th, The Sleep-Deprived Teen: Why Our Teenagers Are So Tired, and How Parents and Schools Can Help Them Thrive.

She is here today to discuss the topic of the new book, specifically the science behind WHY sleep is so essential to the well-being of teens and how parents can help support their teens in this area so they can thrive.
