Tara and Anna welcome their guest expert, Dr. Leia Charnin, licensed psychologist.  She is a solo practitioner located in Charlotte NC who provides individual therapy, group therapy, parenting training, and community presentations on a variety of topics, including advocacy and implicit bias, depression, anxiety, body image and eating concerns, identity, life transitions, and post-traumatic growth. 

LGBT+ Youth experience a lot of interpersonal and environmental stressors that can lead to significant trauma, mental health concerns, and stigma. Those youth that are not supported by family members have an increased amount of mental health issues; such as depression, anxiety, and substance abuse.
